PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL TO ORDER. Napa Valley, California Burgess Cabernet, officially Burgess Cellars Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, is the flagship wine of Burgess Cellars, established in 1972 by Napa Valley pioneer Tom Burgess. This beautiful estate winery is located on the slopes of Howell Mountain, affording spectacular views of Napa Valley. The family-owned winery and its gifted winemaker, Bill Sorenson, offer us a classic red wine gem in Burgess Cab. Linda Murphy on winereviewonline.com calls it old-school and underappreciated. Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex blend of all five red Bordeaux varietals: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec. It is deep ruby red in color with an enticing aroma of cassis, black cherry, vanilla and cigar box. Medium-full in body with bright acidity and silky tannins, this classy Cab seduces rather than overpowers with flavors of black cherry, black currant, cedar, olive and chocolate. It was aged in French oak barrels. The finish is long and rich with a lingering note of chocolate. Enjoy Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon over the next 8-10 years with roast beef, grilled lamb chops, root vegetables and aged cheeses.
