Description
Like Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut, Roederer Estate Rose is untraditional. While most roses are made with more Pinot Noir than Chardonnay, Roederer Estate Rose is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Charodnnay. For color, winemaker prepares a small portion of Pinot Noir with extended maceration and adds about 5% to blend before secondary fermentation, imparting a subtle salmon tinge. Both 60/40 blend and addition of small amount of red wine create a charming wine of discreet finesse. As with all Roederer Estate wines, Brut Rose is 100% estate grown. Oak-aged wines from Estate's reserve cellars are added to blend, creating a multi-vintage cuvee in traditional Roederer style. Roederer Estate Rose is full and round with smooth flavors and a fine, persistent mousse. extra measure of Chardonnay contributes elegance and austerity that balance nicely with delicate fruitiness of Pinot Noir. Wine Spectator rating: 91.
